Mark Rotella
Mark Rotella (born 1967) is an American author and senior editor at ''Publishers Weekly''. Biography Rotella was born in Connecticut and grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from Columbia University in 1992 with a B.A. in Russian Literature. Rotella's first book, ''Stolen Figs: And Other Adventures in Calabria'' (2004), recounts his travels to Calabria, the region in southern Italy from which his grandparents immigrated. His second book, ''Amore: The Story of Italian American Song'' (2010), tells of the era in American popular music during the mid-20th century dominated by Italian-American singers such as Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett. He also wrote the introduction for the 2006 paperback edition of Carlo Levi's memoir, '' Christ Stopped at Eboli''. Rotella resides in Montclair, New Jersey with his wife and two children. Connecticut
Connecticut () is the southernmost state in the New England region of the Northeastern United States. It is bordered by Rhode Island to the east, Massachusetts to the north, New York to the west, and Long Island Sound to the south. Its capital is Hartford and its most populous city is Bridgeport. Historically the state is part of New England as well as the tri-state area with New York and New Jersey. The state is named for the Connecticut River which approximately bisects the state. The word "Connecticut" is derived from various anglicized spellings of "Quinnetuket”, a Mohegan-Pequot word for "long tidal river". Montclair () is a township in Essex County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Situated on the cliffs of the Watchung Mountains, Montclair is a wealthy and diverse commuter town and suburb of New York City within the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the township's population was 40,921, reflecting an increase of 3,234 (+8.5%) from the 37,687 counted in the 2010 Census. As of 2010, it was the 60th-most-populous municipality in New Jersey. Montclair was first formed as a township on April 15, 1868, from portions of Bloomfield Township, so that a second railroad could be built to Montclair.
