Mark Olssen
Mark Olssen, FAcSS, a political theorist, is Emeritus Professor of Political Theory and Education Policy in the Department of Politics within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Surrey. Biography Born and educated in Dunedin, New Zealand, Olssen completed a PhD at the University of Otago in 1983, with a thesis on New Zealand trade unions. Olssen moved to England in 2001, and has researched and taught at the University of Surrey since that date. Dr Kalervo N. Gulson is a sociologist of education at the University of New South Wales. He has previously held positions at the University of British Columbia and Charles Sturt University. His work has provided important insights into the role of space and place when theorizing education policy change.
