Mark McLaughlin (basketball Player)
Mark McLaughlin (born 2 December 1975) is a Scottish former professional footballer. Since turning senior in 1999, McLaughlin has played over 100 games for both Clyde and Hamilton Academical. He has also played for Greenock Morton and Dumbarton. Career McLaughlin, a defender, began his career at junior club Arthurlie before moving to Clyde in 1999. Clyde McLaughlin made his debut with Clyde in a 3–1 win away from home against Stenhousemuir. On 7 October 2000 he scored his first senior football goal away to Alloa Athletic at the Recreation Park Alloa's home ground and only two weeks later he scored in a 2–2 draw against Ross County at Broadwood in the Scottish Football League First Division. In July 2002, McLaughlin had a trial with Luton Town, which was later cancelled because he was struggling with an injury. Hamilton After five years at Clyde, he joined Hamilton Academical in 2004. Greenock Telegraph
The Greenock Telegraph is a local daily newspaper serving Inverclyde (the council area containing the towns of Gourock, Greenock and Port Glasgow), Scotland. Founded in 1857, it was the first halfpenny daily newspaper in Britain. It was for a time Greenock Telegraph and Clyde Shipping Gazette, owing to the massive amount of maritime traffic moving in and out of Greenock's harbours. This information is still published, but only as a column entry. Originally based in Charles Street, Greenock, the printing works were bombed during the Greenock Blitz in May 1941. However the printers worked on to produce emergency editions, despite sustaining multiple cuts from the shattered glass lodged in the presses. 2017–18 West Of Scotland Super League
The 2017–18 West of Scotland Super League was the 16th and final season of the West Super League, the top tier of league competition for Scottish Junior Football Association, West Region, SJFA West Region member clubs. The league comprised two divisions, a West of Scotland Super League Premier Division of 12 clubs and a West of Scotland Super League First Division of 14 clubs. The competition began on Saturday 19 August 2017. This was the final season using the format ahead of league reconstruction for the 2018–19 season. SJFA West Region Premiership
The SJFA West Region Premiership (also known as the McBookie.com West Region Premiership for sponsorship reasons) was a semi-professional football league run by the West Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association, and was the highest tier of league competition for its member clubs. Formerly known as the West of Scotland Super League Premier Division, the league was created in 2002 with the amalgamation of the top leagues of the Central and Ayrshire regions. It was abolished in 2020 when all SJFA West Region clubs moved to join the newly-formed senior West of Scotland Football League. The 1999–2000 Scottish Second Division was won by Clyde and ended with Alloa Athletic pipping Ross County to second place on the final day of the season thanks to a 6-1 win over Queen of the South, while Ross County could only manage a 2-2 draw away at Stenhousemuir. The top three were promoted as a result of league reconstruction. Scottish Football League Second Division
The Scottish Football League Second Division was the third tier of the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. History The Second Division was created in 1975, as part of a wider reconstruction of the Scottish Football League (SFL). Prior to 1975, the SFL had been split into two divisions (Division One and Division Two). The effect of the reconstruction was to split these two divisions into three, with the top flight named the Premier Division, second tier the First Division, and a new third tier was created known as the Second Division. A fourth tier, known as the Third Division, was created in 1994. In 1998, the Premier Division clubs broke away from the SFL to form the Scottish Premier League (SPL).
