Mark Anthony Malogorski (born 31 January 1970) is a Maltese international lawn bowler. Bowls career Malogorski was selected as part of the five man team by Malta for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship He won a pairs bronze medal (with Brendan Aquilina), at the 2019 Atlantic Bowls Championships. Atlantic Bowls Championships
The Atlantic Bowls Championships was a lawn bowling competition held between national bowls organisations in the Atlantic region. The event was a qualifying event for the World Outdoor Bowls Championships until the 2021 announcement that it would no longer be held. Originally the Championships were for women only and were called the Atlantic Rim Championships. In 2007 men competed for the first time at the event. The 2001 tournament due to be held in Namibia was cancelled due to opposition from the Namibia Sports Commission. The next tournament was held in 2005. 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship
The 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was to be the 14th edition of the World Championships to be held at the Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. There were to be eight events that determined the 2021 world champions, the men's singles, doubles, triples and fours and the women's singles, doubles, triples and fours and in addition there are two overall team winners who receive the Leonard and Taylor trophies respectively. It was originally scheduled from 23 May to 7 June 2020 but the event was officially cancelled on 9 March 2021. Postponement The event followed suit of other sporting events around the world in early 2020, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak wreaking havoc across the sporting industry. Brendan Aquilina
Brendan Aquilina (born 23 September 1987) is a Maltese international lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career Outdoors He was born in Wollongong, Australia and started bowling at the Jamberoo Bowling Club in New South Wales. He represented Malta in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He was selected as part of the Maltese team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland where he reached the semi-finals of the Pairs with Shaun Parnis. In 2019 he won the pairs bronze medal with Mark Malogorski at the Atlantic Bowls Championships and in 2020 he was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia. The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017.
