Mark Lynch (Gaelic Footballer)
Mark Lynch (born 20 February 1986) is a dual player of Gaelic games who played Gaelic football for the Derry county team, with whom he won a National League title. He plays his club football and hurling for St Mary's Banagher. Football career Inter-county Lynch was called up to the Derry Minor team in 2002 and made his debut against Antrim while only 16. Derry Minors won that year's Ulster Minor Championship and All-Ireland Minor Championship. He was a member of the Derry Under-21 team that finished runners-up in both the 2004 and 2006 Ulster Under-21 Football Championships. Lynch has been playing for the Senior team since 2004. He was instrumental in the 2008 National League, which Derry won, defeating Kerry in the final. Lynch underwent a shoulder operation in November 2008 and isn't expected to return to action until March 2009. Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship
The Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Ulster GAA Hurling Intermediate Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion intermediate clubs and, in some cases, champion senior clubs in the province of Ulster in Ireland. The Ulster Intermediate Club Championship was introduced in 2004. In its current format, the championship begins in late October or early November and is usually played over a four-week period. The seven participating club teams compete in a straight knockout competition that culminates with the Ulster final for the two remaining teams. The Derry Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Derry GAA clubs. The Derry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1887. The 2008 National Football League was the Gaelic football league contested by 33 GAA counties' football teams, 32 from Ireland and one (London) from England. Derry won their sixth title. Ulster Minor Hurling Championship
The Ulster Hurling Minor Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1930 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Ulster in Ireland. It is sponsored by the Electricity Supply Board and therefore officially known as the ESB Ulster GAA Hurling Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Ulster final currently being played on the last Sunday of June. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The International Rules Series is a senior men's international rules football competition between the Australia international rules football team (selected by the Australian Football League) and the Ireland international rules football team (selected by the Gaelic Athletic Association). The Sigerson Cup is the trophy for the premier Gaelic football championship among Higher Education institutions (Universities, Colleges and Institutes of Technology) in Ireland. It traditionally begins in mid January and ends in late February.
