Mark Kinnear
Mark Kinnear (born 21 August 1979) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Kinnear was selected by Sydney with the fourth pick of the 1996 National Draft, from the Calder Cannons. He played his junior football at Kilmore. A centre half back, Kinnear was just 17 when he made his league debut. He made three appearances for the Swans in the 1997 AFL season and another three in 1998. After the 1999 season, he was traded to Collingwood, along with a draft pick, in return for Andrew Schauble. Calder Cannons
The Calder Cannons is an Australian rules football club from Melbourne, Australia. The club competes in the NAB League, the Victorian Statewide Under-18s competition, and fields squads in the Under-15s, Under-16s and Under-18s. The club was formed in 1995 after the need for two more metropolitan clubs. The geographic catchment area for the club is the north western suburbs of Melbourne extending to cover the Macedon Ranges area. 1997 AFL Season
The 1997 AFL season was the 101st season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season ran from 27 March until 27 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. Before the season, the Port Adelaide Football Club (SANFL) was admitted to the league, increasing the South Australian membership to two clubs. Foundation club Fitzroy, which had gone into administration in 1996, merged with the Brisbane Bears to form a new Queensland-based club known as the Brisbane Lions. Andrew Schauble (born 17 November 1976) is a former Australian rules football player. For over a decade, he was a consistent player in defence for both the Collingwood Football Club and the Sydney Swans.
