Mark Kean
Mark Kean (born June 22, 1988 in Innerkip, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Woodstock, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of Ottawa. Career Kean's junior career involved winning the provincial junior mixed title in 2009. Kean made a quick transition to men's curling winning the provincial Colts trophy in 2010 and in 2011 playing in his first provincial tournament. At the 2011 provincial championship, his rink finished with a 3-7 record. As preparation for the 2011 provincial, the Kean rink played in their first Grand Slam of Curling event, at the 2011 BDO Canadian Open of Curling, where they went winless (0-5). Kean qualified for his second provincial championship in 2012 posting a 3-7 record. Innerkip, Ontario
East Zorra-Tavistock is a township in southwestern Ontario, Canada, formed on 1 January 1975 through the amalgamation of the Township of East Zorra and the Village of Tavistock. It is part of Oxford County. The township had a population of 7,129 in the Canada 2016 Census. John Epping
John Allan Epping (born March 20, 1983) is a Canadian curler from Toronto, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of the Leaside Curling Club in East York, Toronto. Career Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Epping was a top junior curler, having won the Ontario Junior championship in 2004. At the 2004 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, his team finished with an 8-4 record, just out of the playoffs. He won the 2006 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship with Julie Reddick, Scott Foster and Leigh Armstrong. He won the 2007 provincial mixed as well, but could not defend his national title. After Juniors, Epping played third for Nick Rizzo until switching positions with Rizzo in 2006, and thus skipping the team. However, in 2007 he was picked up to play third for Olympic silver medallist Mike Harris. He'd only play one season for Harris before joining Wayne Middaugh's rink at second in 2008. Mallory Kean
Mallory Kean (née Buist) is a Canadian curler from Woodstock, Ontario. She currently plays second for the Chrissy Cadorin rink on the World Curling Tour. Career Kean began curling at age 7 at the Glendale Golf and Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario. As a junior career, Kean made it to the finals of the Ontario Bantam championship in 2004 (losing to Rachel Homan) and played in the 2004 Ontario Winter Games. After juniors, Kean joined the Alison Goring rink, throwing second rocks for the 2011-12 season. She then joined the Brit O'Neill rink for the 2012-13 season, playing third, then the Ashley Waye for the 2013-14 season and then the Lisa Farnell rink for the 2014-15 season, playing third again. In 2015, Kean would form her own rink with Carly Howard, Kerilynn Mathers and Cheryl Kreviazuk. Jake Walker (curler)
Jake Walker (born March 14, 1989) is a Canadian curler originally from Minden, Ontario. He is a former Canadian Junior champion, and world junior bronze medallist. As a Bantam-aged curler, Walker won the Ontario Bantam championship in 2005, playing third for Ben Willemse. In 2010, Walker and his rink of Craig Van Ymeren, Geoff Chambers and Matthew Mapletoft won the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships. The team would represent the province at the 2010 Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. Walker would lead the rink to a 9-3 round robin record, followed by winning the semi-final against Saskatchewan's Braeden Moskowy and the final against Manitoba's Alex Forrest. David Seth "Splash" Mathers (born May 12, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He currently plays second for the Glenn Howard rink. Born in Ottawa, Mathers grew up in the Waterloo Region. Curling career Junior's As a student at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School, Mathers won the 2007 Ontario Schoolboy Championship, playing second for Andrew Flemming. The following year, he won a Bantam championship playing second for Mike Flemming. Mathers would then move back to Ottawa to attend Algonquin College. As a junior curler, Mathers played second for the Mathew Camm rink at the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, representing Ontario. Mathew Camm
Mathew Robert "Mat" Camm (born March 29, 1990) is a Canadian curler from Cornwall, Ontario. He currently plays third on Team John Epping. Camm is originally from Rockland, Ontario. Career Juniors In 2007, Camm played second for the Neil Sinclair rink which won the Ontario Bantam boy's championship. The team also won the silver medal at the Canada Winter Games that year. In 2010, Camm lost in the final of the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships to Jake Walker. When Walker went on to win the Canadian Junior Curling Championships that year, he selected Camm to play as the team's alternate at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships, where the team won bronze medals. 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Pre-Trials
The qualification event for the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials (branded as the Capital One Road to the Roar for sponsorship reasons), was held from November 5 to 10 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex in Kitchener, Ontario. The top two finishers of the men's and women's events qualified to participate in the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. The teams played in a triple-knockout tournament where four teams qualified for the playoff round. The first two qualifiers and second two qualifiers played against each other, and the winner of the first game advanced to the Trials. The loser of the first game then played the winner of the second game to determine the second team that would advance to the Trials.
