Jake Walker (curler)
Jake Walker (born March 14, 1989) is a Canadian curler originally from Minden, Ontario. He is a former Canadian Junior champion, and world junior bronze medallist. As a Bantam-aged curler, Walker won the Ontario Bantam championship in 2005, playing third for Ben Willemse. In 2010, Walker and his rink of Craig Van Ymeren, Geoff Chambers and Matthew Mapletoft won the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships. The team would represent the province at the 2010 Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. Walker would lead the rink to a 9-3 round robin record, followed by winning the semi-final against Saskatchewan's Braeden Moskowy and the final against Manitoba's Alex Forrest. This earned the four-some a berth at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships in Flims, Switzerland, representing Canada. Alex Forrest (curler)
Alex Forrest (born February 13, 1989) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Until 2020, he played third for the Jason Gunnlaugson rink. Career Juniors Forrest made his first and only Canadian Junior Curling Championships appearance in 2010 skipping Team Manitoba. The team finished the round robin in first place only suffering two losses to Northern Ontario and Saskatchewan. This meant the team had an automatic bye to the final. There, they faced Ontario who they had previously beaten in the round robin. Unfortunately, the team gave up two in the final end to lose the game 8–7. Forrest curled an average 80% during the round robin, which was second among skips. Men's Forrest played second for the Jeff Stoughton rink for the 2014–15 season, which would be Stoughton's last. Dayna Deruelle (born June 17, 1982) is a Canadian curler from Brampton, Ontario. He currently skips a rink on the World Curling Tour. His team competes in various events on the Ontario Curling Tour throughout the season and competes annually in the Ontario Curling Association Dominion Tankard play downs. Deruelle and his teammates Andrew McGaugh, Kevin Lagerquist and Evan DeViller enjoyed some success in their first season as a team when they qualified to represent Region 3 in the 2012 Ontario Dominion Tankard in Stratford, Ontario. Furthermore, the team qualified for the playoffs after finishing 5-5 in the round robin and winning a tie-breaker. World Curling Tour
The World Curling Tour (WCT) is a group of curling bonspiels featuring the best male, female, and mixed doubles curlers in the world. History The World Curling Tour was founded by former World Champion Ed Lukowich, with later assistance from John Kawaja. The World Curling Tour commenced in 1992, with men's events only at first. It replaced the "Canadian Curling Tour" held the previous season. The first season consisted of 48 events (with only one outside Canada), and was sponsored by Seagram's distillery. Teams earned points in every event with the top 30 qualifying for the season ending " V.O. Cup", today known as the Players' Championship. Its first president and CEO was Lukowich. Brendan Bottcher
Brendan Michael Bottcher (born December 19, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Bottcher is a three-time provincial men's champion, and was the skip of the 2021 Canadian men's championship team, having led Alberta to victory at the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier. Born in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Bottcher enjoyed a successful junior career winning the 2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships. He was also the 2010 Alberta junior men's champion and the 2007 Alberta juvenile provincial finalist. Bottcher skips his own team out of the Saville Sports Centre in Edmonton. 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships
The 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships were held from March 14 to 18 at the Welland Curling Club in Welland, Ontario. The host university of the event was Brock University, located in nearby St. Catharines. The winners of the event, the teams from the University of Alberta and from Wilfrid Laurier University skipped by Brendan Bottcher and Laura Crocker, respectively, will go on to represent Canada at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy. Peter De Cruz
Peter Vincent de Cruz (born 4 January 1990) is a Swiss curler. He is an Olympic bronze medallist for Switzerland, having skipped his Swiss rink to a third place finish at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. While de Cruz is the skip of his team, he throws second stones. As a junior, De Cruz skipped the Swiss team at both the 2010 and 2011 World Junior Curling Championships. He won the gold medal in 2010, defeating Scotland, skipped by Ally Fraser.
