Mark Ivey (sailor)
Mark Ivey (born July 11, 1973) is an American football coach who is currently the linebackers coach at the University of Louisville. A longtime high school football coach in Florida, he joined the college coaching ranks at his alma mater, Appalachian State, in 2012, serving as their interim head coach in 2018 when Scott Satterfield departed to be the head coach at Louisville. He followed Satterfield to Louisville in 2019 to serve as his defensive line coach. Coaching career High school coaching After graduating from Appalachian State in 1996, Ivey coached the freshman offensive and defensive line at Port Charlotte High School in Florida. He spent the 1997 season at Cape Coral High School as an assistant, before going on to coach the offensive line and serve as the defensive coordinator at Gulf Coast High School. Louisville Cardinals Football
The Louisville Cardinals football team represents the University of Louisville in the sport of American football. The Cardinals compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference. History Early history (1912–1924) The University of Louisville began playing football in 1912 where the Cardinals went 3–1. Louisville had played several years at club level and teams were mostly composed with medical students. Beginning in 1914 the Cardinals joined the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) and they would participate in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC). Due to financial difficulty Louisville did not participate in the 1917–1921 seasons. Eliah Drinkwitz (born April 12, 1983) is an American football coach who is the head coach at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He previously served as the head coach at Appalachian State University in 2019 and as an assistant coach at North Carolina State University, Boise State University, Arkansas State University and Auburn University. The 2018 New Orleans Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 15, 2018, with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EST (8:00 p.m. local CST). It was the 18th edition of the New Orleans Bowl, and one of the 2018–19 bowl games concluding the 2018 FBS football season. Sponsored by freight company R+L Carriers, the game was officially known as the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Teams The game featured the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders from Conference USA and the Appalachian State Mountaineers, the 2018 Sun Belt Conference champions. 2018 Appalachian State Mountaineers Football Team
The 2018 Appalachian State Mountaineers football team represented Appalachian State University during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Mountaineers were led by sixth-year head coach Scott Satterfield and played their home games at Kidd Brewer Stadium. They competed as a member of the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 11–2, 7–1 in Sun Belt play to be co-champions of the East Division with Troy. Due to their head-to-head win over Troy, they represented the East Division in the inaugural Sun Belt Championship Game where they defeated West Division champion Louisiana to become Sun Belt Champions for the third consecutive year and first time outright.
