Mark Baker (born 8 April 1959 in London) is an English animator and producer whose works include the Oscar-nominated short films ''The Hill Farm'' (1988), ''The Village'' (1993) and ''Jolly Roger'' (1998). He is also known for co-creating ''Peppa Pig'' (2004–present) and ''Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom'' (2009-2013). Mark Baker is an architectural historian, and an author of several books on country houses, estates and their families. Baker has contributed to several television series and programmes. He became a Welsh Conservative Party councillor for Gele in May 2017. Early years and education Baker was educated at Rydal Penrhos School, Colwyn Bay. He later attended the University of Wales, Bangor, in 2003, from which graduated with a BA in history and archaeology in 2006. Baker's MA was taken at Cardiff University and focussed on the Gothic Revival in Wales. Baker then undertook PhD studies researching the development of Welsh Country Houses, during which he discovered the earliest known image of Hafod Uchtryd, Devil's Bridge. Baker was made a member of the National Trust Committee for Wales in 2009 (later renamed the Wales Advisory Board). LaMark Anthony Baker (born November 11, 1969) is a retired American basketball player and current coach. He is the former head coach of the Dayton Jets of the International Basketball League. He played collegiately for the Ohio State University as point guard from 1989–1992. He is currently third in all-time assists in Ohio State history. After graduating, he was not drafted and signed with the National Basketball Association's Charlotte Hornets, but was waived before the 1992–93 season started. Baker played two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Columbus Horizon (1992–93) and the Grand Rapids Hoops (1998–99), averaging 10.6 points and 7.2 assists per game for his CBA career. Mark Cleland Baker (born 1959) is an American linguist. He received his Ph.D. from MIT in 1985 and has taught at Rutgers University since 1998. Baker frequently was a faculty member at the Linguistic Society of America's Summer Institute and, prior to coming to Rutgers, was a faculty member at McGill University (1986–1998). He worked with the Mohawk language for several years, also serving as a consultant on language revitalization for the Mohawk. Working within generative grammar, he has written several books about the formal analysis of polysynthetic languages. Baker previously served as a representative from the 48th district from January 8, 2013, until his resignation on May 15, 2017.
