Mariveles Coal-Fired Power Plant
Mariveles Coal-Fired Power Plant is a coal power plant in Mariveles, Bataan. The 600-MW facility was connected to the Luzon power grid in January 21, 2013. The facility was a joint project of GN Power Mariveles Coal Plant Ltd Co. and AC Energy ACEN is the listed energy platform of the Ayala Group. The company has ~3,700 MW of attributable capacity in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Australia, with a renewable share of 93%, which is among the highest in the region. ACENâ .... Two additional units are under construction, both with 600-MW capacity. It was scheduled in early 2016 that the construction of the first unit which would cost P1 billion would commence. Mariveles, Bataan
Mariveles, officially the Municipality of Mariveles ( tl, Bayan ng Mariveles), is a first class municipality in the province of Bataan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 149,879 people. History Founded as a ''pueblo'' by a Franciscan Friar in 1578, Mariveles, the "Village of Camaya" was part of the Corregimiento of Mariveles, including Bagac and Morong, Corregidor and Maragondon, Cavite. The name Mariveles comes from a shorting of "''maraming dilis''" (lit. "many anchovies"), which are found off the coast. With its natural cove, the port was used by ships from China and Spain to resupply. The Superior Decree of July 1754 declared Mariveles' independence from Pampanga.
