Mariusz Wlazły
Mariusz Łukasz Wlazły (born 4 August 1983) is a Polish professional volleyball player. He was a member of the Poland men's national volleyball team, Poland national team from 2005 to 2014. A participant in the Olympic Games 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing 2008, 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, 2014 World Champion, and a nine–time Polish Champion with Skra Bełchatów. At the professional club level, he plays for Trefl Gdańsk. Personal life Mariusz Wlazły was born in Wieluń, Poland. On 17 June 2006, Mariusz married Paulina (née Drewicz). On 13 January 2009, his wife gave birth to their first child, a son named Arkadiusz. On 23 November 2015, their second son was born. In February 2017, he graduated from the Academy of Management and Administration in Opole with master's degree in sports marketing. Career Clubs Wlazły played in Skra Bełchatów for over 10 years. Wieluń
Wieluń ( la, Velun) is a town in south-central Poland with 21,624 inhabitants (2021). Situated in the Łódź Voivodeship (since 1999), it was previously in Sieradz Voivodeship (1975–1998). Wieluń has a long and rich history. In the past, it used to be an important urban trade centre of the Kingdom of Poland. Several Polish kings and notables visited the town, but following the catastrophic Swedish Deluge (1655–1660), Wieluń declined and never regained its status. In September 1939, during the invasion of Poland, it was heavily bombed by the Luftwaffe. The Bombing of Wieluń is considered to be the first World War II bombing in Europe. It killed at least 127 civilians, injured hundreds more and destroyed the majority of the town. Origin of the name Wieluń was first mentioned in a 1282 document as Velun (in 1283: Vilin). The 2009 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship was the 5th edition of the event. It was held in Doha, Qatar from 3 to 8 November 2009. Golden formula For the first time in an FIVB tournament, a new rule trialled during the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship Doha 2009 in order to “keep the ball flying” and add value to a rally for the spectator. The Golden Formula playing system requires that the first attack for each team begins from the back row in an attempt to produce longer rallies. FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship is an international men's club volleyball competition organised by the '' Fédération Internationale de Volleyball'' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The competition was first contested in 1989 in Italy. It was not held between 1993 and 2008, but since 2009, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Qatar and Brazil except in 2017 and 2018 where both hosted by Poland. The current format of the tournament involves eight teams competing for the title at venues within the host nation over a period of about one week; the winners of that year's AVC Club Volleyball Championship (Asia), African Clubs Championship (Africa), Men's South American Volleyball Club Championship (South America) and CEV Champions League (Europe), along with the host city's team and a nominated team from North America. The 2007–08 CEV Champions League was the 49th edition of the highest level European volleyball club competition organised by the European Volleyball Confederation. Participating teams League round 24 teams will be drawn to 6 pools of 4 teams each. The 1st – 2nd ranked will qualify for the Play-off 12 teams. If the organizer of the final four is one of the above qualified teams in this case this team directly qualifies for the final four and the 3rd ranked team with the best score will also qualify for the Play-off 12 teams (replaces the organizer of the Final Four Tournament).
