Maritime Pro Stock Tour
The Maritime Pro Stock Tour (Commonly known as the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour due to a sponsorship deal with Parts for Trucks) is an annual racing tour located in the Maritime provinces of Canada. History The Maritime Pro Stock Tour was founded in 2001 to provide a short track racing in the Maritime provinces and is the successor to the MASCAR Tour. It is now known as the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and was previously known as the Carquest Pro Stock Tour from 2001-2010. The tour is known as one of the best in Canada and is recognized as one of the healthiest touring series in North America. Each summer the Maritime Pro Stock Tour draws some of the largest crowd of any summer sport in the Maritimes. John Flemming (born March 10, 1967 in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian professional racing driver. Flemming currently drives the #97 Happy Harry's Affordable Building Dodge for Flemming Motorsports in the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Racing career Early career Flemming entered a demolition derby in 1984, winning it, and catching the racing bug. The following year Flemming entered the street stock division at Scotia Speedworld in Enfield, Nova Scotia, just across the highway from the Halifax International Airport. Timberlea, Nova Scotia
Timberlea is a community located within the Municipality of Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada. History The community was first known as Nine Mile River after the river in the centre of the community which fed several early mills. In the mid-19th century, the St. Margaret's Bay Road was routed through the community. Several hotels were established to cater to travelers and later sportspeople and the Nine Mile River was crossed by an arched stone bridge, which survived until 2014 as one of the only surviving stone bridges in Nova Scotia. After the arrival of the Halifax and Southwestern Railway in 1904, the community was referred to as Bowser's Station; after Angus Bowser.
