Marit Stiles
Marit Stiles () (born September 20, 1969) is a Canadian politician who has represented Davenport in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since June 7, 2018. A member of the Ontario New Democratic Party (NDP), Stiles is presumed to be the next party leader, pending a confirmation vote from NDP members scheduled in 2023. Born in Newfoundland, Stiles moved to Ontario to attend university. She worked as a policy researcher before becoming research and policy director with ACTRA. Stiles served as a Toronto District School Board (TDSB) trustee in 2014 and was the president of the federal NDP from 2016 to 2018, before her election as a member of Provincial Parliament (MPP). The Leader of the Official Opposition (french: Chef de l'opposition officielle) in Ontario, officially Leader of His Majesty's Loyal Opposition (french: Chef de la loyale opposition de Sa Majesté), is the leader of the largest party in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario which is not part of the government. The current Leader of the Opposition is Peter Tabuns, interim leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party, because the NDP won the second largest number of seats as a result of the 2022 election. Andrea Horwath
Andrea Horwath (; born October 24, 1962) is a Canadian politician who has been the 58th mayor of Hamilton since 2022. Horwath previously served as the member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Hamilton Centre from 2004 to 2022, as leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party (NDP) from 2009 to 2022 and as the leader of the Official Opposition in Ontario from 2018 to 2022. 2022 Ontario General Election
The 2022 Ontario general election will be held on or before June 2, 2022, to elect Members of Provincial Parliament to serve in the 43rd Parliament of Ontario. As of December 2016, Ontario elections are held on the first Thursday in June in the fourth calendar year following the previous general election. The Legislative Assembly of Ontario can be dissolved earlier by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario due to a motion of no confidence or if the Premier triggers a snap election. Gilles C. Bisson (born May 14, 1957) is a Franco-Ontarian politician in Ontario, Canada.
