Mario Panzeri
Mario Panzeri (11 October 1911 – 19 May 1991) was an Italian lyricist and composer. He is well known for his composed songs that include "Maramao perché sei morto?" "Pippo non lo sa", "Lettera a Pinocchio", and "Grazie dei fior", which won the first edition of the Sanremo Music Festival in 1951. Panzeri was the composer of Sanremo Music Festival 1964 winning song "Non ho l'età". Life and career Born in Milan, Panzeri started his career as a revue actor and singer. He began composing songs in the second half of the 1930s, having large success with two songs, "Maramao perché sei morto?" and "Pippo non lo sa", which also raised some controversies as they were accused of mocking some important Fascist personalities (Costanzo Ciano and Achille Starace, respectively). In 1951 a song he composed, "Grazie dei fior", won the first edition of the Sanremo Music Festival. The Sanremo Music Festival 1964 was the 14th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Sanremo Casino in Sanremo, province of Imperia between 30 January and 1 February 1964. The show was presented by Mike Bongiorno, assisted by Giuliana Lojodice. Gianni Ravera served as artistic director. According to the rules of this edition every song was performed in a double performance by a couple of singers or groups. Orietta Berti (born Orietta Galimberti on 1 June 1943) is an Italian pop-folk singer and television personality. "Nessuno mi può giudicare" ( en, "Nobody can judge me") is an Italian pop song written by Luciano Beretta, Miki Del Prete, Daniele Pace and Mario Panzeri. The song premiered at the sixteenth edition of the Sanremo Music Festival, and was performed by Caterina Caselli and Gene Pitney, finishing second. Caselli's version was a massive success, in spite of her being almost unknown at the time, and peaked at the first place on the Italian hit parade for several weeks. It is considered as the song which consecrated Caselli to fame. Caselli also recorded a French-language ("Baisse un peu la radio") and a Spanish-language version ("Ninguno me puede juzgar") of the song. Caterina Caselli (born 10 April 1946) is an Italian record producer, music executive, singer and bass player. Biography Caselli was born in Modena but grew up in Sassuolo. She started her music career by playing bass in local clubs. In 1966 she debuted in the Sanremo Festival with " Nessuno mi può giudicare", a song discarded by Adriano Celentano, scoring a notable success. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. Caselli also had considerable success with an Italian cover of the David McWilliams song "Days of Pearly Spencer" called "Il volto della vita".
