Marin Raykov

	Marin Raykov Marin Raykov Nikolov ( bg, Марин Райков Николов ; born 17 December 1960 in Washington, D.C., United States) is a Bulgarian politician and diplomat who was appointed to serve as a caretaker Prime Minister of Bulgaria and minister of foreign affairs of Bulgaria on 12 March 2013 by Bulgarian president Rosen Plevneliev. He left office on 29 May 2013 with his interim deputy PM Ekaterina Zakharieva. Raykov served as a deputy Foreign Minister in the governments of Ivan Kostov (1998–2001) and Boyko Borisov (2009–2010). From 2010 to 2013, he served as an ambassador of Bulgaria in France. Marin Raykov’s father, Rayko Nikolov, was himself a career diplomat. 	Caretaker Government A caretaker government is a temporary ''ad hoc'' government that performs some governmental duties and functions in a country until a regular government is elected or formed. Depending on specific practice, it usually consists of either randomly selected or approved members of parliament or outgoing members until their dismissal. 	Irina Bokova Irina Georgieva Bokova ( bg, Ирина Георгиева Бокова; born 12 July 1952) is a Bulgarian politician and the former Director-General of UNESCO (2009–2017). During her political and diplomatic career in Bulgaria, she served, among others, two terms as a member of the National parliament, and deputy minister of foreign affairs and minister of foreign affairs ''ad interim'' under Prime Minister Zhan Videnov. She also served as Bulgaria's ambassador to France and to Monaco, and was Bulgaria's Permanent Delegate to UNESCO.
