Marika Eensalu
Marika Eensalu (until 1971 Marika Bahvalova; born 20 September 1947) is an Estonian opera singer (mezzo-soprano) and music pedagogue. She was born in Tallinn and attended schools in Peri, Estonia, Peri before enrolling at the Tallinn University of Technology. After graduation, she worked at the AS Kommunaalprojekt construction design company. Eensalu sang in the Estonian girls' choir Ellerhein, and later with the Aare Rüütel Orchestra and studied singing at the Eesti Kontsert, Estonian SSR State Philharmonic. In 1973, she graduated from Ludmilla Issakova's class of classical singing at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music College, Tallinn Music School. In 1978, she graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn State Conservatory. From 1970 to 1980 she sang with the Estonia Theatre's choir. Ivo Eensalu
Ivo Eensalu (born 3 April 1949) is an Estonian actor and theatre director. Eensalu's career began in the early 1970s, and has appeared as an actor on stage, film and in television. He became widely known after appearing on the Eesti Televisioon children's educational television series ''Mõmmi ja aabits''. From 1995 until 2001, he was the director of the Estonian Drama Theatre. Early life and education Ivo Eensalu was born in Märjamaa in 1949. His father was a carpenter. He graduated from Järvakandi Secondary School in 1967 and enrolled in the Performing Arts Department of the Tallinn State Conservatory (now, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre) the following year, studying drama with instructor Voldemar Panso, and graduating in 1972. Eduard Tubin
Eduard Tubin ( – 17 November 1982) was an Estonian composer, conductor, and choreographer. Life Tubin was born in Torila, Tartu County, Governorate of Livonia, then part of the Russian Empire. Both his parents were music lovers, and his father played trombone in the village band. His first taste of music came at school where he learned the flute. Later, his father swapped a cow for a piano, and the young Eduard soon became known in the village for his playing. Eduard also played flute in the village orchestra. Tubin entered the Tartu Teacher's College in the newly independent Estonia in 1920. It was here he began to take an interest in composition. In 1924 he was admitted to the Tartu Higher Music School starting his studies under the guidance of the famous Estonian composer Heino Eller. Maria Veretenina is an Estonian dramatic coloratura soprano opera singer. Early life She was born in Tallinn. Veretenina graduated in 2010 from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Career In 2011 she made her opera debut at Finnish National Opera. She performed with bass Matti Salminen. In 2019, Maria gave a sold-out solo concert at the Mariinsky Theatre's new stage in the main Concert Hall in St Petersburg. At age 19, Maria began a series of thousands of solo concerts throughout the world including the Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia, the Chamber Opera in Vienna, the Royal College of Music and St. John's Smith Square in London, Zaragoza Concert Hall and in Estonia, the opera and Estonia concert halls in Tallinn.
