Marian Reynolds
Marian K. Reynolds (born February 16, 1950) is an American former politician who served in the Kansas House of Representatives and Kansas State Senate. Reynolds was born in Dodge City, Kansas and grew up on her family's farm in Cimarron as one of nine children. She attended community college and married Jay Reynolds. In 1974, she ran for the Kansas House as a Democrat. Kansas's 38th Senate District
Kansas's 38th Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Kansas Senate. It has been represented by Republican Ron Ryckman Sr. since March 2021, following the death of incumbent Bud Estes on February 13, 2021. Geography District 38 is predominantly based in the two Western Kansas cities of Dodge City and Liberal, covering all of Clark, Ford, Gray, Meade, and Seward Counties and part of Hodgeman County. Other communities in the district include Cimarron, Meade, and Ashland. The Kansas Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Kansas and one of two major parties in the state, alongside the Republicans. The chair of the party is Vicki Hiatt. The party currently controls the state's governorship, lieutenant governorship and Treasurer office, as well as one seat in the state's U.S. House delegation.
