Mariam Khatchvani
Mariam Khatchvani ( ka, მარიამ ხაჭვანი; born 1 May 1986) is a Georgian film director and screenwriter. Biography Khatchvani graduated in 2008 from the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University, Tbilisi. She has directed many short documentaries, including ''Verdzoba'' (2006), Beyond the Window (2007), Lichanishi and Kvirikoba (2009). ''Dinola'' (2013) is her latest fiction short. Ushguli
Ushguli ( ka, უშგული) is a community of five villages located at the head of the Enguri gorge in Svaneti, Georgia. Ushguli is one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. Compared to somewhat more developed towns like Mestia, Ushguli is not in an accessible location, which has preserved many of the villages' medieval characteristics, including unique defensive tower houses called Svan towers. Miho Mosulishvili
Mikheil "Miho" Mosulishvili (; ka, მიხეილ "მიხო" მოსულიშვილი; born December 10, 1962) is a Georgian writer and playwright. Biography Mosulishvili graduated in 1986 from the Tbilisi State University. Afterwards, he worked as a geologist and as a journalist in various newspapers, published several Georgian stories, novels, translations, and plays. His plays were performed in Georgia at theaters, on television and on radio. Some of his works have been translated into Latvian, English, German, Armenian and Russian. Gala (Georgian: გალა) is a literary competition founded under the aegis of the Tbilisi Sakrebulo (Tbilisi City Assembly, Georgia). The idea of the competition belongs to writer and member of Tbilisi City Assembly Zaal Samadashvili. The competition presents awards in seven categories. Winners receive a copy of a Bronze Age axe and prize money (4000 GEL). The European Film Academy is an initiative of a group of European filmmakers who came together in Berlin on the occasion of the first presentation of the European Film Awards in November 1988. Shota Rustaveli Theater and Georgia State Film University (TAFU) is one of the oldest universities in the Caucasus and Georgia.
