Maria Tsouri
Maria Tsouri ( el, Μαρία Τσουρή; born May 25, 1986) is a Greek water polo player, part of Greece women's national water polo team that won the Silver Medal at the 2010 European Championship in Zagreb, the Gold Medal at the 2005 FINA Women's Water Polo World League in Kirishi and the Bronze Medal at the 2010 World League in San Diego. She also competed with the Greece women's national water polo team in the 2006 European Water Polo Championship (6th place), the 2007 World Championship (8th place), the 2008 European Championship (6th place) and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing (8th place). At club level, she played -most notably- for Olympiacos, Ethnikos Piraeus and Glyfada. She won the LEN Trophy in 2010 with Ethnikos, and the 2011 Greek Championship (as well as the third place at the 2010–11 LEN Champions Cup) with Olympiacos. Water Polo At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's water polo tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing was held from 11 August to 21 August at the Ying Tung Natatorium. Teams from eight nations competed, seeded into two groups for the preliminary round. 20 games were played, 12 of them in the preliminary round (each team played the other teams in the group). Eight games were played in the final round. Format The tournament featured eight teams, separated into two groups of four teams. Each team played the other three teams in its pool once in a round-robin format. The first-place team in each pool qualified directly for the semifinal, the second- and third-place teams moved on to the quarterfinal round, and the fourth-place teams played each other in a seventh place game. Panagiotis Vasilopoulos, commonly known as Panos Vasilopoulos (alternate spellings: Panayiotis, Vassilopoulos) (Greek: Παναγιώτης "Πάνος" Βασιλόπουλος; born February 8, 1984) is a Greek former professional basketball player who currently serves as an assistant coach for Peristeri of the Greek Basket League and the Basketball Champions League, under head coach Vassilis Spanoulis. The 2010–11 LEN Women's Champions' Cup was the 24th edition of the highest-level competition in women's European club water polo. A1 Ethniki Women's Water Polo
The Greek Women's Water Polo A1 League ( el, Ελληνικό Πρωτάθλημα Υδατοσφαίρισης της Α1 Γυναικών) is the premier championship for women's water polo teams in Greece. It was founded in 1988, and it is currently contested by eight teams. Greek League is ranked as one of the top national domestic leagues in European water polo. The champion, the runner-up and the third-placed team qualify for the LEN Euro League. The first champion was Ethnikos Piraeus. During the next years Glyfada NSC and NC Vouliagmeni dominated. At the last ten seasons Olympiacos Piraeus and Vouliagmeni are alternated at the top of the championship. Only four teams have won the championship so far. Women's LEN Trophy
The Women's LEN Trophy is LEN's second-tier competition for women's water polo clubs. It was first held in 2000 as the LEN Women's Cup Winners' Cup. It was contested for many seasons by around 15 teams, which could qualify for it either directly due to high ranking in their domestic league or by being eliminated at certain stages of the Champions' Cup. After the last reformations in the European competitions system by LEN, only four teams contesting for the trophy, coming after elimination at that season's LEN Euro League quarterfinals stage.
