Eeva Maria Tolppanen (born 24 November 1952) is a Finnish politician, representing the Social Democratic Party in the Parliament of Finland. She has served in the Parliament since 2011 and in the City Council of Vaasa since 2013. The Parliament of Finland ( ; ) is the unicameral and supreme legislature of Finland, founded on 9 May 1906. In accordance with the Constitution of Finland, sovereignty belongs to the people, and that power is vested in the Parliament. Vaasa is a Finnish constituency represented in eduskunta. It covers the administrative regions of Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia and Southern Ostrobothnia. The Finns Party, formerly known as the True Finns ( fi, Perussuomalaiset, PS, sv, Sannfinländarna, Sannf.), is a right-wing populist political party in Finland. It was founded in 1995 following the dissolution of the Finnish Rural Party. The party achieved its electoral breakthrough in the 2011 Finnish parliamentary election, when it won 19.1% of votes, becoming the third largest party in the Finnish Parliament.
