Maria Ney
Maria Ney (August 6, 1890, in Kiel – April 7, 1959, or April 6, 1961 in West Berlin) was a German cabaret artist, film actress and accordionist. Biography Ney was born in Kiel in northern Germany in 1890. Her father was a physician. She first studied singing at the Kiel Conservatory. In 1933, she was reported to live in Zurich. She returned to Nazi Germany by 1936, when she was in a film. She is buried in the Waldfriedhof Zehlendorf in Berlin. Career Cabaret In 1923, Ney made her debut at the Café Gößenwahn on Kürfurstendamm in Berlin. By the late 1920s, Ney was performing regularly in the "Cabaret of Comics" (), the longest-running German-language cabaret. She was famous enough to receive reviews in the American magazine '' Variety'' and was one of the most famous German women singers in the 1920s and 1930s''.'' Kiel

Aafa-Film
Aafa Film or Aafa-Film was a German film production and distribution company which operated during the 1920s and 1930s. Established in 1920 as Radio-Film the company was controlled by the producer Gabriel Levy and the director Rudolf Dworsky. The company was one of the leading producers of the Weimar Republic, and survived the transition from silent to sound film in 1929. Rum-running or bootlegging is the illegal business of smuggling alcoholic beverages where such transportation is forbidden by law. Smuggling usually takes place to circumvent taxation or prohibition laws within a particular jurisdiction. The term ''rum-running'' is more commonly applied to smuggling over water; ''bootlegging'' is applied to smuggling over land. It is believed that the term ''bootlegging'' originated during the American Civil War, when soldiers would sneak liquor into army camps by concealing pint bottles within their boots or beneath their trouser legs. Kurt Gerron
Kurt Gerron (11 May 1897 – 28 October 1944) was a German History of the Jews in Germany, Jewish actor and film director. He and his wife, Olga were murdered in the Holocaust. Life Born Kurt Gerson into a well-off merchant family in Berlin, he studied medicine before being called up for military service in World War I. After being seriously wounded, he was qualified as a military doctor in the German Army (German Empire), German Army, despite having been only in his second year at university. After the war Gerron turned to a stage career, becoming a theatre actor under director Max Reinhardt in 1920. He appeared in secondary roles in several silent films and began directing film shorts in 1926. Rudolf Biebrach
Rudolf Biebrach (24 November 1866 – 5 September 1938) was a German actor and film director. He directed over 70 films between 1909 and 1930; and he appeared as an actor in nearly 110 films between 1909 and 1938. In his youth, Biebrach had worked for some years as an Engraving, engraver. He got his first engagement as an actor in Gießen during 1890/1891. After a long career as a stage actor, Biebrach managed to become a successful director and character actor in the German film during the 1910s.
