Maria Josepha of Dietrichstein (''Maria Josepha Antonia''; 29 June 1694 – 3 September 1758), was a German noblewoman member of the House of Dietrichstein and by marriage Countess and later Princess Kinsky of Wchinitz und Tettau. She was the eldest child and daughter of Walther Franz Xaver Anton, 5th Prince of Dietrichstein and his second wife Karolina Maximiliana, a daughter of Count George Christoph of Proskau. Dietrichstein
The House of Dietrichstein was the name of one of the oldest and most prominent Austrian noble families originating from Carinthia. The family belonged to the High Nobility, the Hochadel. The Nikolsburg (Mikulov) branch was elevated to the rank of Prince of the Holy Roman Empire in 1624, while a member of the Hollenburg branch was elevated to the same dignity in 1684. History Dietrichstein Castle near Feldkirchen in the Duchy of Carinthia was first mentioned in an 1103 deed. It was probably named after one knight ''Dietrich'' in the service of the Carinthian dukes. In 1166 the Dietrichstein estates were acquired by the Prince-Bishops of Bamberg and enfeoffed to a family of ''ministeriales'' officials, who began to call themselves after the castle. When the line became extinct in the early 14th century, the fief was inherited by Nikolaus I, another Carinthian ''ministerialis'' from nearby Nussberg Castle, whose descendants also called themselves ''von Dietrichstein''. Walther Franz Xaver Anton, Prince of Dietrichstein (18 September 1664 – 3 November 1738), was a German prince member of the House of Dietrichstein, 5th Prince (''Fürst'') of Dietrichstein zu Nikolsburg, Princely Count (''gefürsteter Graf'') of Tarasp, Baron (''Freiherr'') of Hollenburg, Finkenstein and Thalberg. Early life He was born as the sixth child and fourth (but third surviving) son of Ferdinand Joseph, 3rd Prince of Dietrichstein, and his wife, Princess Marie Elisabeth of Eggenberg, daughter of Johann Anton I, Prince of Eggenberg, Duke of Český Krumlov and Princely Count (''gefürsteter Graf'') of Gradisca d'Isonzo.
