Maria-Chapdelaine is a regional county municipality in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada. Its seat is in Dolbeau-Mistassini. It runs from Lac Saint-Jean in the south to the deep interior of northern Quebec in the north. Regional County Municipality
The term regional county municipality or RCM (''french: municipalité régionale de comté, MRC'') is used in Quebec, Canada to refer to one of 87 county-like political entities. In some older English translations they were called county regional municipality. Regional county municipalities are a supralocal type of regional municipality, and act as the local municipality in Unorganized area#Quebec, unorganized territories within their borders. The system of regional county municipalities was introduced beginning in 1979 to replace the List of former counties of Quebec, historic counties of Quebec. Atikamekw Language
Atikamekw (endonym: ''Atikamekw Nehiromowin'', literally "Atikamekw native language") is a variety of the Algonquian language Cree and the language of the Atikamekw people of southwestern Quebec, Canada. It is spoken by nearly all the Atikamekw, and therefore it is among the indigenous languages least threatened with extinction, according to some studies. Atikamekw is a language belonging to the Cree– Montagnais–Naskapi linguistic continuum, which is part of the Central branch of the Algonquian languages of the Algic family of languages. 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022. Rivière-Mistassini is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec, located in the regional county municipality of Maria-Chapdelaine. The territory had a population of 27 as of the Canada 2021 Census, and covered a land area of 17,629.74 km2. The eponymous Mistassini River has its source in the far northern part of the territory and entirely bisects it from north to south. Passes-Dangereuses (until May 2009: Chute-des-Passes) is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec, located between the Peribonka River on the east and the Mistassibi River on the west. Geography The territory, part of the regional county municipality of Maria-Chapdelaine, covered a land area of and had a population of 210 as of the Canada 2021 Census, all living in the village of Sainte-Élisabeth-de-Proulx (), which is north-east of Dolbeau-Mistassini in the geographic township of Proulx.
