Margot Roosevelt (born Margot Roosevelt Barmine; August 13, 1950) is an American journalist who covers economic and labor news for the ''Los Angeles Times''. She is a great-granddaughter of President Theodore Roosevelt. Early life Roosevelt is the daughter of Edith Kermit Roosevelt and Alexander Gregory Barmine; Roosevelt's maternal grandfather is Archibald Roosevelt, a son of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. She was educated at the Lycée Français de New York and the École Française Internationale in Washington, D.C. Roosevelt also attended the University of Madrid, Spain and the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. She graduated from Harvard University (Radcliffe College) with a degree in history. The Lycée Français de New York (LFNY), commonly called the Lycée (in English, "The French High School of New York"), is an independent bilingual French school serving an international community of students from Nursery-3 to twelfth grade based in Manhattan, New York City. The Lycée is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools and the French Ministry of Education, though it receives no funding from the French government. The Lycée offers a standard French curriculum taught by French-trained teachers. In parallel, students follow an American program, taught by U.S.-trained teachers, similar to what is found in New York City independent schools.
