Marek Piotrowski
Marek "The Punisher" Piotrowski (born 14 August 1964) is a Polish retired heavyweight kickboxer and boxing, boxer. He is a former ten time kickboxing world champion. Amateur career At around the age of 13 or 14, Piotrowski studied jujutsu achieving green belt before becoming interested in Kyokushin kaikan, Kyokushin karate when he was at age of 18. In 1984 (in under 25 years old class) he won the Polish Juniors karate championship, following this up the next year by winning the Polish Senior championship. He became a karate Black belt (martial arts), black belt 1st Dan (rank), dan in July 1993. His official karate record is 13 fights, with 13 victories. At the beginning of 1987, Piotrowski began to focus on kickboxing, in particular, full-contact, which was prohibited in Poland at the time. In East Asian martial arts, the black belt is associated with expertise, but may indicate only competence, depending on the martial art. The use of colored belts is a relatively recent invention dating from the 1880s. Origin The systematic use of belt colour to denote rank was first used in Japan by Jigoro Kano, the founder of judo in the 1880s. World Kickboxing Association
The World Kickboxing Association (WKA) also known as World Kickboxing and Karate Association, is one of the oldest and the largest amateur and professional sanctioning body for kickboxing and Karate. Conrad Pla (born October 24, 1966) is a Canadian actor and former professional kickboxer. He is best known for founding Tristar Gym and starring in the Canadian television series ''ReGenesis''. Early life Pla was born in Madrid and moved to Canada with his parents at the age of three. Career Pla was a professional kickboxer between the ages of 18 and 32. He competed in the light heavyweight and super middleweight division. Kickboxing weight classes are weight classes that pertain to the sport of kickboxing. Organizations will often adopt their own rules for weight limits, causing ambiguity in the sport regarding how a weight class should be defined.
