Marco Ruas
Marco Antônio de Lima Ruas (; born 23 January 1961) is a Brazilian former mixed martial arts fighter, Submission Wrestler, Kickboxer and instructor. Ruas was the UFC 7 Tournament Champion, and also competed for the World Vale Tudo Championship (WVC), PRIDE Fighting Championships and the International Fight League, where he head-coached the Southern California Condors. Ruas is a pioneer of Mixed martial arts, having fought in a high-profile Vale Tudo bout in 1984, and later winning the UFC 7 tournament in 1995, begin the second Brazilian UFC champion and fourth overall of the organization. Euclydes Hatem (; September 16, 1914 – September 26, 1984), known as Mestre Tatu (), was a Brazilian catch wrestler, known for being the founder of the martial art of Luta Livre. Biography Early life He was born into a Brazilian family of Lebanese origin. At 14 years old, after an unsuccessful career as a rower, Hatem started learning catch wrestling at the Associação de Cristã de Moços in Rio de Janeiro. From his childhood he received the nickname of "Tatu" ("armadillo") for his short, stocky build, which did not impede him from showing skill for the art. Roberto Leitão
Roberto Cláudio das Neves Leitão (15 May 1937 – 28 November 2020) was a Brazilian martial artist in Luta Livre, or Brazilian Catch Wrestling. He was a 4th degree blackbelt in Judo, while also having 60 years in Luta Livre. He dedicated himself to flawless technique. Biography He held a degree in mechanical engineering. He was university professor who continuously wrote about martial arts and grappling. He would lead the way for Luta Livre during the 1970s. Roberto trained a number of grapplers including Renato Sobral, Pedro Rizzo and Marco Ruas. Additionally he is said to be an instructor of José Aldo. He would also train with 1984 Greco Roman Superheavyweight Gold medalist, Jeff Blatnick for Blatnicks run in MMA.
