William Marciano
William Joseph Marciano (born October 11, 1947) is an American theoretical physicist, specializing in elementary particle physics. Education and career Marciano graduated with a B.S. and an M.S. in physics at New York University. There he received in 1974 his doctorate with Alberto Sirlin as doctoral advisor. Marciano worked from 1974 to 1980 at Rockefeller University, where he started as a research associate and was then promoted to assistant professor. From 1980 to 1981 he was an associate professor at Northwestern University. At Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) he was in 1978 a research collaborator in 1978 and in 1981 joined the physics department and was granted tenure. At BNL he was promoted on 1986 to senior physicist and from 1987 to 1998 was the leader of the physics department's High-Energy Theory Group. Marciano Carlos Alberto Vink (born 17 October 1970) is a Dutch former professional footballer. Throughout his career he played primarily as a right defensive midfielder and as a right central defender. He most notably played for Ajax and PSV in the Eredivisie and Genoa in the Serie A. Injury prone since the very beginning of his career, he was forced to quit prematurely at the age of 28. Marciano Saldías Barba (born April 25, 1966 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra) is a former Bolivian football defender who spent most of his career at Oriente Petrolero. Club career Saldías joined Oriente Petrolero in 1984. He along other important players like Erwin "Chichi" Romero, Luis Cristaldo and Celio Alves formed an exceptional team that represented Bolivia at club level in several Copa Libertadores editions of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Marciano Cantero (born Horacio Eduardo Cantero Hernández, 25 August 1960 – 8 September 2022) was an Argentine musician. He was the lead singer and bassist of Enanitos Verdes, an Argentine pop/rock band. Biography Cantero was nine when he first heard the Beatles and The Beach Boys, which he credits as one of his most important influences in his music. Cantero bought a bass guitar that was on sale with his savings, and started to practice with the instrument, helped by his older brother. Saadia Marciano ( he, סעדיה מרציאנו; 1 May 1950 – 21 December 2007) was an Israeli social activist and politician, and founder of the Israeli Black Panthers. Biography Born in Oujda, Morocco in 1950, Marciano's family immigrated to Israel before his first birthday, where he grew up in the Musrara neighborhood of Jerusalem. He was inspired by the example of the Black Panthers to organise a national movement to liberate Mizrahi Jews, and founded the Israeli Black Panthers in 1971. The organisation's name was attributed to Marciano by Kochavi Shemesh, who claimed that it was chosen to frighten Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir. In 1972, Marciano was part of a Black Panthers group who moved milk bottles from middle-class neighbourhoods to poor ones.
