Marci Francisco
Marci Francisco (born April 22, 1950) is an American politician who currently serves as the Kansas State Senator from the 2nd district, a position she has held since 2005. Early career She was a city commissioner of Lawrence, Kansas, from 1979 to 1983, and served as mayor from 1981 to 1983. She was a space analyst at the University of Kansas. Political career In 2004, she defeated Mark Buhler, the appointed Republican incumbent, with 49% of the vote, versus 43% for Buhler. Jim Mullins of the Reform party finished third, with 7%. In 2008, she defeated Republican Scott Morgan, 21,069 to 12,540 votes. In 2012, her margin was 64.5% over Republican Ron Ellis 35.4%. Kansas's 2nd Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Kansas Senate. It has been represented by Democratic Party (United States), Democrat Marci Francisco since 2005. Geography District 2 is based in Lawrence, Kansas, Lawrence, covering the University of Kansas and much of the city's downtown in Douglas County, Kansas, Douglas County, as well as most of Jefferson County, Kansas, Jefferson County to the north. A general election was held in the state of Kansas on November 6, 2018. Primary elections were held on August 7, 2018. Voters elected all six executive officers, the lower house of the state legislature, and all of the state's delegations to the U.S. House. Lynn Rogers (politician)
Lynn Wayne Rogers (born September 11, 1958) is an American politician and businessman who served as the 41st Kansas State Treasurer from 2021 to 2023. He previously served as the 51st lieutenant governor of Kansas from 2019 to 2021. A Democrat, he had previously served on the board of Wichita Public Schools from 2001 to 2017, and in the Kansas Senate representing the 25th district in west Wichita from 2017 to 2019.
