Marchin' On (album)
"Marchin On" is a song by American rock music, rock band OneRepublic, and is written and produced by frontman Ryan Tedder for the group's second studio album ''Waking Up (OneRepublic album), Waking Up'' (2009). Producer and rapper Timbaland included a remixed version of the song for his third studio album ''Shock Value II'' (2009). As the title of the song is "Marchin On" it has a marching beat with a bass drum which is a good foundation for an electronic remix. The track was released as the album's third single in German-speaking Europe in June 2010, where it served as German TV channel ZDF's promotional FIFA 2010 World Cup song and it was also used by HBO to promote their 2012 programming line up. The song was used in the episode 20 ("Blood Brothers") of season one of The CW series ''The Vampire Diaries''. OneRepublic is an American pop rock band formed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2002. It consists of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Tedder, lead guitarist and violist Zach Filkins, rhythm guitarist Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, drummer Eddie Fisher and keyboardist and violinist Brian Willett. The band achieved its first commercial success on Myspace as an unsigned act. In late 2002, after OneRepublic played shows throughout the Los Angeles area, several record labels approached the band with interest, but the band signed with Velvet Hammer, an imprint of Columbia Records. They made their first album with producer Greg Wells during the summer and fall of 2005 at his studio, Rocket Carousel, in Culver City, California. Zachary Douglas Filkins (born September 15, 1978) is an American musician, actor and songwriter. He is a guitarist for the pop rock band OneRepublic. Biography Early life A significant part of Filkins's childhood was spent intensely studying classical guitar in Barcelona, Spain. He attended Colorado Springs Christian High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he played for the school Association football, soccer team. It was at the high school that he met future bandmate Ryan Tedder during their twelfth grade, senior year. During a drive home, Filkins and Tedder were discussing their favorite musicians and decided to form a band.
