Marchin' Already
''Marchin' Already'' is the third album by Ocean Colour Scene. The album was a follow-up to the successful ''Moseley Shoals'', and is in a similar style. The songs were taken from the band's catalogue that they had built up since forming several years earlier. The single "Hundred Mile High City" was used in the film ''Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels''. P.P. Arnold appears on "Traveller's Tune" and "It's a Beautiful Thing". A more subdued version of "Traveller's Tune" originally appeared as a B-side to "The Day We Caught the Train". The album knocked Oasis' '' Be Here Now'' off the top spot in the UK Albums Chart—Noel Gallagher sent Ocean Colour Scene his congratulations through a plaque on which he had inscribed, "To The Second Best Band In Britain". Steve Cradock famously retorted "it's an honour to be described as Britain's second best band, ahead of Oasis but behind the Beatles". In 2007 the song "Get Blown Away" was covered by British indie band The Enemy as a B-sid ...

Be Here Now (album)
''Be Here Now'' is the third studio album by English rock band Oasis, released on 21 August 1997 by Creation Records. The album was recorded at multiple recording studios in London, including Abbey Road Studios, as well as Ridge Farm Studio in Surrey. Although most tracks retain the anthemic quality of previous releases, the songs on ''Be Here Now'' are longer and contain many guitar overdubs. Noel Gallagher said this was done to make the album sound as "colossal" as possible. The album cover features a shot of the band members at Stocks House in Hertfordshire. It is the last Oasis studio album to feature founding members guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs and bassist Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan as the two left in 1999. Following the worldwide success of their first two albums, ''Definitely Maybe'' (1994) and ''(What's the Story) Morning Glory?'' (1995), the album was highly anticipated. Oasis' management company, Ignition, were aware of the dangers of overexposure, and before release ...

It's A Beautiful Thing (Ocean Colour Scene Song)
"It's a Beautiful Thing" is a rock song by Ocean Colour Scene with P. P. Arnold. The song was released in 1998 and reached number 12 in the UK Singles Chart. It is taken from their 1997 chart-topping album ''Marchin' Already'' and was the fourth and final single to be released from the album, following "Hundred Mile High City", " Travellers Tune" and " Better Day". By not reaching the Top 10, the song broke the chain formed by the previous six singles which had all reached the Top 10. The band have never reached the Top 10 since. The lyrics are understood to be about Simon Fowler's (aka Sonny's) personal difficulties in coming out as gay. The title is a reference to the 1993 play and 1996 film '' Beautiful Thing''. Love is the "beautiful thing", but Fowler also laments that it can be a "terrible thing". P. P. Arnold Patricia Ann Cole (born October 3, 1946), known professionally as P. P. Arnold, is an American soul singer. Arnold began her career as an Ikette with the Ike & ...

UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. As of 2021, the OCC still only tracks how many UK Top 75s album hits and how many weeks in Top 75 albums chart each artist has achieved. To qualify for the Offi ...
