A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). ''Lo que la vida me robó'' (English title: ''What Life Took From Me'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Angelli Nesma Medina for Televisa, broadcast by Canal de las Estrellas (now known simply as Las Estrellas). Gustavo Rojo
Gustavo Rojo Pinto (5 September 1923 – 22 April 2017) was a Uruguayan-Mexican actor. Life and career Gustavo Rojo was born on 5 September 1923 on a German ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. His mother was the prominent Spanish author Mercedes Pinto, who emigrated to Uruguay for political reasons. His two older siblings, Pituka de Foronda and Ruben Rojo, also became actors. In the late 1920s, Mercedes wrote a play and Gustavo made his theater debut. Gustavo's screen debut came as a child actor in the 1938 Cuban film ''Ahora seremos felices'', in which his older sister Pituka had a starring role. In the 1940s, the family moved to Mexico, where Rojo worked steadily throughout the 1940s. In 1947, he made his Hollywood debut in the film ''Tarzan and the Mermaids'', which starred Johnny Weissmuller and Brenda Joyce. Rojo was engaged to Austrian actress Erika Remberg in 1958. Ofelia Guilmáin (November 17, 1921 – January 14, 2005) was a Spaniard-Mexican actress of telenovelas, stage and the cinema of Mexico. She is also the mother of actors Juan Ferrara and Lucía Guilmáin. Two of her grandchildren, sons of Ferrara, Mauricio and Juan Carlos Bonet, are also actors. Biography Ofelia Guilmáin was born in Madrid, Spain. She was part of the Guerrillas of Theater groups in Spain set up by the republican government. When Francisco Franco came to power, she left her country as did many other artists and intellectuals. She arrived with her family in Mexico in 1939 and debuted in theater the following year in the play ''Mujeres''. In 1940, she made her first film ''El capitán estrella'' and married Lucilo Gutiérrez next year. She retired from show business for a decade and became a Mexican citizen in 1952. ''Amor real'' ( English: ''Royal Love'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Carla Estrada for Televisa, broadcast by Canal de las Estrellas (now known simply as Las Estrellas). It originally aired from June 9 to October 17, 2003. ''Amor real'' is an historical drama set in the Mexican post-independence period of the mid- 19th century. The telenovela aired on Univision in the United States, REN TV in Russia and La 1 in Spain, among others. It was successfully distributed to many countries worldwide.
