Marcelo Veridiano
Marcelo Veridiano (; born June 30, 1966) is a former Brazilian footballer. Club career His professional career started at 1986 with São Paulo. He played for São Paulo until 1989 when he was acquired by Skoda Xanthi. He instantly became the club's star scoring 11 goals in just 21 matches. His best season with Skoda Xanthi was 1992–1993 when he scored 24 goals in 32 matches being the league's third goalscorer. He was the first player to score 4 goals in a match in the Greek professional championship in an 8–2 win against Pierikos on January 10, 1993 (Skoda Xanthi's biggest league win ever). He is also Skoda Xanti's all-time top goalscorer with 75 goals and the player who scored both the 100th (May 22, 1992 against Aris Thessaloniki) and the 200th (February 13, 1994 against Panathinaikos) Skoda Xanthi's league goal. The 1998–99 Cypriot Cup was the 57th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 50 clubs entered the competition. It began on 14 November 1998 with the preliminary round and concluded on 8 May 1999 with the final that was held at Tsirion Stadium. APOEL won their 17th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Anorthosis 2–0 in the final. Format In the 1998–99 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division, the Cypriot Third Division and 8 of the 15 teams of the Cypriot Fourth Division. 1996–97 Greek Football Cup
The 1996–97 Greek Football Cup was the 55th edition of the Greek Football Cup. Tournament details Totally 72 teams participated, 18 from Alpha Ethniki, 18 from Beta, and 36 from Gamma. It was held in 7 rounds, included final. After 8 years the phase of groups was suppressed, while the teams of Alpha Ethniki would enter in the competition in the Round of 32. The Round of 16 was very interesting. Olympiacos eliminated PAOK and Panathinaikos eliminated Iraklis. Also, Ionikos tipped OFI with 7 goals. For third time in the 4 last years AEK Athens and Panathinaikos were pondered over in the Final, held in Karaiskakis Stadium. AEK Athens won on the penalty shootout.
