Marcello Polisi
Marcello Polisi (born January 24, 1997) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays for Canadian Premier League side Valour FC. Early life Born in Burnaby, British Columbia, Polisi grew up in nearby Coquitlam. He began playing soccer at age four with Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC, from 2001 to 2011. In 2008 and 2009, he had training stints with the youth teams of Belgian club Standard Liège. In 2011, he joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, after having previously been part of the Whitecaps Prospects program, which he captained the U11 and U12 levels and appeared with the U11 squad in Europe against European club academy teams. He also played on the British Columbia provincial team, serving as U13 captain and as a member of their U14 team and also trained in the Canadian Soccer Association’s National Training Centre program at U13 level. HFX Wanderers Football Club, commonly known as HFX Wanderers, and spoken as Halifax Wanderers, is a Canadian professional Association football, soccer club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Early life Polisi began playing soccer at age four with Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC, where he played from 2002 until 2011. In 2008 and 2009, he had training stints with the youth teams of Belgian club Standard Liège. He also played for the BC provincial team at U13 level, serving as team captain. In September 2011, he joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy. In 2013, after being released by the Whitecaps, he returned to Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC, where he was named a ‘Player of Distinction’ by the Canadian Soccer Association in 2014, and with whom he won the 2015 BC Provincial U-15 Cup, after scoring a hat-trick in the final. 2022 Canadian Premier League Season
The 2022 Canadian Premier League season is the fourth season of the Canadian Premier League, the top level of Canadian soccer. Pacific FC are the defending champions, having beaten Forge FC in the 2021 final. The regular season ran from April 7 to October 9, 2022. Each team played four games against each of the seven opponents for a total of 28 matches. Atlético Ottawa won the regular season championship on October 8, securing the club its first trophy. The top four teams from the regular season qualified for the playoffs where they competed for the league title. Forge FC defeated Atlético Ottawa in the 2022 Final to win their third title. 2021 MLS SuperDraft
The 2021 MLS SuperDraft was the 22nd edition of the SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The SuperDraft is held every January prior to the start of the MLS season. The 2020 SuperDraft was the first held exclusively via conference call and web streaming. The Draft was once again held virtually, and began on January 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and consisted of three rounds (shortened from four rounds in prior years).
