Marcella Corcoran Kennedy
Marcella Corcoran Kennedy (born 7 January 1963) is an Irish former Fine Gael politician who served as a Minister of State from 2016 to 2017. She served as a Teachta Dála (TD) from 2011 to 2020. Corcoran Kennedy was a member of Offaly County Council from 1999 to 2009 for the Ferbane local electoral area. At the 2011 general election, she was elected to the Laois–Offaly constituency, and then at the February 2016, she was elected for the Offaly constituency. On 19 May 2016, she was appointed as Minister of State at the Department of Health with special responsibility for Health Promotion by the Fine Gael–Independent government on the nomination of Taoiseach Enda Kenny. A local electoral area (LEA; ga, Toghlimistéir Áitiúil) is an electoral area for elections to local authorities in Ireland. All elections use the single transferable vote. The Republic of Ireland is divided into 166 LEAs, with an average population of 28,700 and average area of . This is a list of the members elected to the 32nd Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (legislature) of Ireland. These TDs (members of parliament) were elected at the 2016 general election on 26 February. That general election took place throughout the state to elect 158 members of Dáil Éireann, a reduction of 8 from the prior number of 166. Leo Eric Varadkar ( ; born 18 January 1979) is an Irish politician who has served as Taoiseach since December 2022, and previously from 2017 to 2020. The Taoiseach is the head of government, or prime minister, of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The office is appointed by the president of Ireland upon the nomination of Dáil Éireann (the lower house of the Oireachtas, Ireland's national legislature) and the office-holder must retain the support of a majority in the Dáil to remain in office.
