Marc Webb (footballer)
Marc Webb (born 23 February 1979) is an Australian rules football coach in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) for Port Melbourne and in the WAFL for Perth and Subiaco. He served as an assistant coach at the Western Bulldogs after previously being a premiership winning senior coach for Claremont and serving as an assistant coach for Fremantle. He's the husband of Fremantle AFL Women's player Lisa Webb. Playing career Webb played six matches for Port Melbourne in the VFL during the 2000 season. He moved to Western Australia to play for Perth. After playing 20 matches for the Demons, he transferred to Subiaco during the 2002 WAFL season. Between 2002 and 2010 he played 176 matches for Subiaco, including four premierships. He was the Simpson Medal-winner in the 2006 WAFL Grand Final. Port Melbourne Football Club
The Port Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed The Borough, is an Australian rules football club based in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Port Melbourne. The club was founded in 1874 and has been competing in the Victorian Football Association/League (VFL) since 1886. Port Melbourne is the most successful club in the VFL, having won 17 senior men's premierships, three more than its nearest rival, Williamstown. Lisa Webb
Lisa Webb (; born 27 April 1984) is a former Australian rules footballer and current senior coach of the Fremantle Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Early life Webb placed second at the 2002–03 Australian Track & Field Championships competing in the heptathlon. Playing career Webb was drafted by Fremantle with their first selection and the second selection overall in the 2017 AFL Women's rookie draft. She made her debut and was named one of Fremantle's best players in the thirteen point win over at Optus Stadium in round 2 of the 2018 season. She played six games in 2018. She retired from playing at the end of the 2018 season. Coaching career In 2019, Webb was appointed as the opposition and strategy coach for the Fremantle AFLW team. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its inaugural season commencing the following year. The VFL, aiming to become a national competition, began expanding beyond Victoria to other Australian states in the 1980s, and changed its name to the AFL in 1990.
