Marc Dauphin
Major Marc Dauphin, MSM, CD (born 6 February 1960) is a Canadian retired military doctor specialized in emergency medicine. He was based in Kandahar, Afghanistan, where he was in charge of the Role 3 Multinational Hospital at Kandahar Airfield. Major Dauphin was the basis for the character of Colonel Xavier Marks in the Canadian TV series ''Combat Hospital''. Life and career Dauphin was born in Montreal and attended high school at Le Petit Séminaire de Québec (now Le Collège François de Laval), then studied medicine at Université Laval in Quebec City. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental and behavioral disorder that can develop because of exposure to a traumatic event, such as sexual assault, warfare, traffic collisions, child abuse, domestic violence, or other threats on a person's life. Ahmad Shah Baba International Airport, also referred to as Kandahar International Airport ( ps, د کندهار نړيوال هوايي ډګر) and by some military officials as Kandahar Airfield, KAF) , is located about south-east of the city Kandahar in Afghanistan. It serves as the nation's second main international airport and as one of the largest main operating bases, capable of housing up to 250 aircraft of different sizes.
