''Marana Mrudanga'' is a 1992 Indian Kannada-language political drama film directed by B. Ramamurthy and written by Sainath Thotapalli based on the novel ''Marana Mrudangam'' by Yandamoori Veerendranath. The film has former Karnataka Chief Minister, Ramakrishna Hegde in a pivotal role. The film also stars Malashri, Sunil, Ananth Nag and Thiagarajan. The film's music was composed by Hamsalekha and the audio was launched on the Lahari Music banner. Sainath Thotapalli
Sainath Thotapalli (born 27 April 1956) is a well-known writer from the Telugu film industry (also known as Tollywood) and has written for 98 Telugu movies so far including Sitara, Swathimutyam, Swarnakamalam, Swayamkrushi, Sirivennela, Prema, Challenge, Marana Mrudangam, Pavitra Prema and Rakhi among others. He was also long associated with the Mumbai film industry (also known as Bollywood) for movies such as Criminal and Gundagardi. He worked on Padiappa, Veetilo Viseshamga, Madrasi and Villain for the Chennai film industry (also known as Kollywood). Ramakrishna Hegde
Ramakrishna Mahabaleshwar Hegde (29 August 1926 – 12 January 2004) was an Indian politician who served as the tenth Chief Minister of Karnataka for three terms between 1983 and 1988. He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1957, 1962, 1967, 1983, 1985 and 1989, and to the Rajya Sabha for two terms, 1978–83 and 1996–2002. He also served as Minister of Commerce and Industry in the Union government (1998–1999). Early life Hegde was born at Siddapura in Uttara Kannada district into a Havyaka Brahmin family, he was son of Mahabaleshwar Hegde and Smt.
