Manuel Fumic
Manuel Fumic (born 30 March 1982) is a German Cross-country cycling, cross-country Cycle sport, cyclist. He finished 8th at the Cycling at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Men's cross-country, 2004 Summer Olympics and 11th at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 Olympic Games. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's cross-country, men's cross-country at Hadleigh Farm, finishing in 7th place. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he finished in 13th place. He was on the start list for the 2018 cross-country European Championship but was not able to finish. He is the younger brother of Lado Fumic. Lado Fumic
Lado Fumic (born 20 May 1976) is a German former professional cross-country mountain biker. He is the older brother of fellow cyclist Manuel Fumic. He competed at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing 5th in the cross-country in 2000. He is of Croatian ancestry. Cape Epic
The Absa Cape Epic, founded by Kevin Vermaak and also known as the Cape Epic, is an annual mountain bike stage race held in the Western Cape, South Africa. First staged in 2004, it has been accredited as ''hors catégorie'' (beyond categorization) by the Union Cycliste Internationale. The eight day race consists of a prologue and seven stages, and typically covers more than with some of climbing. Professional mountain bikers from around the world encompassing up to 650 teams compete teams of two. To qualify for a finish, teams have to stay together for the duration of the race. The race is also open to amateurs, who enter a lottery in order to gain a slot. The times taken to finish each stage are aggregated to determine the overall winning team in each category at the end of the race. 2003 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships
The 2003 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships were held in Lugano, Switzerland from 31 August to 7 September 2003. The disciplines included were cross-country, cross-country marathon, downhill, four-cross, and trials. The event was the 14th edition of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships and the 18th edition of the UCI Trials World Championships. This was the first year that the cross-country marathon was included in the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships. From 2004 onwards, the cross-country marathon was run as a separate world championship. Anne-Caroline Chausson of France won her eighth consecutive world title in the women's downhill. As of 2016, no other rider has won more than two consecutive world titles in the event. Greg Minnaar of South Africa won the world title in the men's downhill.
