Manthali, Janakpur
Manthali is a List of cities in Nepal, municipality and the headquarters of Ramechhap District in Bagmati Province, Nepal that was established on 2 December 2014 by Merger (politics), merging the former Village development committee (Nepal), village development committees Old-Manthali, Bhatauli, Chisapani, Ramechhap, Chisapani, Kathjor, Bhaluwajor, Salupati and Sunarpani. It was declared the headquarters of the district on 9 March 1989 (26 Falgun 2045 BS). It lies on the bank of the Tamakoshi River. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 45,416 people living in 10,099 individual households. History Manthali had nine wards previously when it was still a VDC (Village Development Committee). While declaring it a municipality there had been a problem due to a neighbouring VDC Ramechhap which had also been included in the municipality to force the municipality's name into Ramechhap. April 2015 Nepal Earthquake
The April 2015 Nepal earthquake (also known as the Gorkha earthquake) killed 8,964 people and injured 21,952 more. It occurred at on Saturday, 25 April 2015, with a magnitude of 7.8 Mw or 8.1 Ms and a maximum Mercalli Intensity of X (''Extreme''). Its epicenter was east of Gorkha District at Barpak, Gorkha, roughly northwest of central Kathmandu, and its hypocenter was at a depth of approximately . Ramechhap Airport is a domestic airport serving the municipality of Manthali, the district headquarters of Ramechhap District located in the Tamakoshi River valley in Bagmati Province in Nepal. As of October 2022, most flights to Lukla Airport are operated from Ramechhap Airport. The "School Level Certificate" popularly abbreviated as SLC, is the final examination of Class 11 and Class 12 which is also known as +2 course in Nepal. +2 is generally pursued after completing SEE examination (Class 10 Final Exam).+2 Course is equivalent to GCE also known as school leaving qualification and SEE is equivalent to GCSE, the academic qualifications in England. Until 2016, SLC was known as Grade 10 final examination. However, after 2016 it was replaced and renamed as SEE examination. The Digital Himalaya project was established in December 2000 by Mark Turin, Alan Macfarlane, Sara Shneiderman, and Sarah Harrison.
