Manningham is a suburb in the inner north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. It is around 5 km from the city centre, in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield council area. Manningham is bounded on the west by Hampstead Road and on the south by North East Road, Adelaide. The northern boundary is Muller Road and the eastern boundary is Ways Road. The City of Manningham is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and is divided into 12 suburbs, with the largest being Doncaster and Doncaster East. It comprises an area of 113 square kilometres and had a population of 125,508 in June 2018. The district spans a roughly east–west direction along the southern banks of the Yarra River and across the undulating valleys of the Koonung, Ruffey and Mullum Mullum Creeks, alternating from typical low density suburban housing in the west to remnant bushland, within a green wedge, in the east. As such, the district encompasses the transition between the built and natural environments in Melbourne's east and promotes itself as a "balance of city and country". Formerly the City of Doncaster & Templestowe, the district is situated in the Wurundjeri nation's territory. Manningham, Bradford
Manningham is an historically industrial workers area as well as a council ward of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. The population of the 2011 Census for the Manningham Ward was 19,983. History Manningham holds a wealth of industrial history, including mill buildings, imposing wool merchants' houses and back-to-back terraced houses. It is the old Jewish area of Bradford. Many of Manningham's German community later migrated to the Heaton area of the city. Cinema history In 1912 the Manningham Kinematograph Company Ltd opened the 519 seat Oak Lane Picture House on a site on the north side of Oak Lane between St Mary's Road and Sunderland Road. The cinema was a converted horse tramshed of the Bradford Tramways and Omnibus Co Ltd. The name was changed to Oriental in 1920 and by 1931 Western Electric sound had been installed. State (Bell/Springvale) Highway, also known as Bell Street/Springvale Road State Highway (after its longest constituent parts), is the longest self-contained urban highway in Melbourne, Australia, linking Tullamarine Freeway and Nepean Highway through Melbourne's north-eastern suburbs.
