Manfred Beer
Manfred Beer (born 2 December 1953) is a former East German biathlete. During his career he won a bronze medal at the 1976 Winter Olympics as part of the East German 4 × 7.5 km relay team and two gold medals and one bronze medal in World Championships, also as part of the 4 × 7.5 km relay team. Altenberg () is a town in the Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge district, in Saxony, Germany. Geography The town is situated in the Ore Mountains, 32 km south of Dresden, and 15 km northwest of Teplice, Czech Republic. The village of Zinnwald-Georgenfeld registered the lowest annual mean temperature (4.9 °C) of all inhabited places in Germany during the period 1961–1990. The International Biathlon Union (IBU; german: Internationale Biathlon-Union) is the international governing body of biathlon.
