Mandanici ( Sicilian: ''Mannanici'') is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about east of Palermo and about southwest of Messina. Mandanici borders the municipalities of Fiumedinisi, Nizza di Sicilia, Pagliara, Roccalumera, and Santa Lucia del Mela. History Mandanici, a small centre in the Province of Messina, was founded in a broad valley on the slopes of ''Pizzo Luci'' at the foot of the Peloritani. Its origin is uncertain, but it is claimed that it was founded by Greek colonists during the Chalkidean migration. ''Duomo'' (, ) is an Italian term for a church with the features of, or having been built to serve as, a cathedral, whether or not it currently plays this role. Monza Cathedral, for example, has never been a diocesan seat and is by definition not a cathedral.
