Mandalay Region Hluttaw
Mandalay Region Hluttaw ( my, မန္တလေးတိုင်းဒေသကြီးလွှတ်တော်) is the legislature of the Mandalay Region in Myanmar (Burma). It is a unicameral body, consisting of 76 members, including 57 elected members and 19 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Aung Kyaw Oo of the National League for Democracy (NLD). As of the 2015 general election, the National League for Democracy (NLD) won the most contested seats in the legislature, based on the most recent election results. Mandalay
Mandalay ( or ; ) is the second-largest city in Myanmar, after Yangon. Located on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River, 631km (392 miles) (Road Distance) north of Yangon, the city has a population of 1,225,553 (2014 census). Mandalay was founded in 1857 by King Mindon, replacing Amarapura as the new royal capital of the Konbaung dynasty. It was Burma's final royal capital before the kingdom's annexation by the British Empire in 1885. Under British rule, Mandalay remained commercially and culturally important despite the rise of Yangon, the new capital of British Burma. Mandalay Region ( my, မန္တလေးတိုင်းဒေသကြီး, ; formerly Mandalay Division) is an administrative divisions of Myanmar, administrative division of Myanmar. It is located in the center of the country, bordering Sagaing Region and Magway Region to the west, Shan State to the east, and Bago Region and Kayin State to the south. Maung Ko is the current chief minister of Mandalay Region. He has served as chairman of Mandalay Region Administration Council, sub-council of State Administration Council, from 2 February 2021 to 1 August 2021. Kyaw San or Kyaw Hsan ( my, ကျော်ဆန်း) is a Burmese politician and the current Mayor of Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar. He became mayor after Ye Lwin. Zaw Myint Maung ( my, ဇော်မြင့်မောင်) is a Burmese politician, physician and former political prisoner who currently serves as Chief Minister of Mandalay Region and Mandalay Region MP for Amarapura Township.
