Manchete Futebol Clube do Recife, also known as Manchete, is a Brazilian football club based in Recife, Pernambuco state. The club was runner-up in the Série C once. History The club was founded on January 1, 1950 as Associação Atlética das Vovozinhas. Vovozinhas was renamed to Associação Atlética Santo Amaro in 1965. As Santo Amaro, the club finished as runner-up in the 1981 Série C, when they were defeated by Olaria. Santo Amaro was later renamed to Associação Atlética Casa Caiada, and then as Recife Futebol Clube in 1994. They won the Copa Pernambuco in 1996, 1997, 2000 and in 2002. The club is known as Manchete Futebol Clube do Recife since February 2, 2004. Goiana
Goiana is a city in Brazil in the northeast of the state of Pernambuco, roughly 65 km north of the city of Recife, 51 km from the capital of Paraíba and 2,187 km from Brasília. Its historic center was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1938. It also has the easternmost continental point of its state, Ponta do Funil in the coastal district of Ponta de Pedras. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. The 1981 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, officially, the Taça de Bronze 1981, was the first edition of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C.The championship was performed by 24 clubs. The first phase was disputed by a two-legged knockout tournament, in which the winners qualified to the Second phase, that was disputed in the same way. Olaria Atlético Clube, usually abbreviated to Olaria, is a Brazilian football club established in 1915, since expanded into other sports. Mostly know for its Brazilian football team based in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the neighbourhood of Olaria. The team compete in Campeonato Carioca Série B1, the second tier of the Rio de Janeiro state football league. The club name means brick factory, and is also the name of the club's neighborhood.
