Mance Post
Mance Post (11 January 1925 – 2 December 2013) was a Dutch illustrator. She is known for illustrating many books written by various Dutch authors, in particular Guus Kuijer and Toon Tellegen. Career Post made her debut in 1946 as illustrator of the book ''Het boek van Thijs en Claartje'' written by J.A. Schreuder. Post won a Vlag en Wimpel award in 1980 for illustrating the book ''Ik woonde in een leunstoel'' by Guus Kuijer and also in 1984 for illustrating the book ''Het geheim van Toet-Mu-Is III'' by Mansfield Kirby. Post illustrated many of Guus Kuijer's books, in particular his ''Madelief'' book series. Kuijer won two Gouden Griffel awards and one Zilveren Griffel award for three books in the series. The series was later adapted to television (''Madelief'', 1994) and film ('' Scratches in the Table'', 1998). Digital Library For Dutch Literature
The Digital Library for Dutch Literature (Dutch: Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren or DBNL) is a website (showing the abbreviation as dbnl) about Dutch language and Dutch literature. It contains thousands of literary texts, secondary literature and additional information, like biographies, portrayals etcetera, and hyperlinks. The DBNL is an initiative by the DBNL foundation that was founded in 1999 by the Society of Dutch Literature (Dutch: Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde). Building of the DNBL was made possible by donations, among others, from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (Dutch: Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek or NWO) and the Nederlandse Taalunie. Ienne Biemans (born 15 August 1944) is a Dutch author of children's literature and children's poems. Career In 1989, Biemans won the Nienke van Hichtum-prijs for her book ''Lang zul je leven''. She also won a Vlag en Wimpel award that year for this book. In 1990, she won the Zilveren Griffel for her book ''Ik was de zee''. In 2013, she also won a Vlag en Wimpel award for her book ''Waar was Hans?''. Biemans' books have been illustrated by various illustrators, including Margriet Heymans and Mance Post. The (German Youth Literature Award) is an annual award established in 1956 by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth to recognise outstanding works of children's and young adult literature. It is Germany's only state-funded literary award. In the past, authors from many countries have been recognised, including non-German speakers. The Gouden Griffel (Golden Stylus) is an award given to authors of children's or teenagers' literature in the Netherlands. History Since 1971, it is awarded each year during the Dutch Children's Books Week, by the Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (Dutch Book Promotion Society) for the best children's books written in the past year. Between 1954 and 1970, one book per year was declared the "children's book of the year". Since then, ''griffels'' are awarded in several categories. Only novels written in Dutch are eligible for the ''gouden griffel''. However, the runner-up awards (Silver ''griffels'') can also be given to translated works.
