Manafest
Christopher Scott Greenwood (born July 19, 1979), known by his stage name Manafest, is a Canadian Christian rapper and rock artist from Pickering, Ontario, Canada. He has won multiple awards for the GMA Canada Covenant Awards, GMA Dove Awards, and has been nominated for multiple Juno Awards. Signed for a decade with BEC Recordings, Manafest became independent in 2015. History After a skateboarding accident in 1998, Greenwood shifted his focus to musical writing. He and fellow rapper Jusachyl started a hip-hop group, Under One King. During this time, Greenwood used his skater nickname 'Speedy' as his moniker. In 2000, Greenwood shifted to the stage name Manafest and began to produce music independently. In 2001, Manafest debuted his EP, ''Misled Youth''. The Moment (Manafest Album)
''The Moment'' is the seventh studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on August 5, 2014 under BEC Recordings. The album was fan-funded through a PledgeMusic campaign. The album marks Manafest's final release with his long-time affiliate label BEC Recordings before moving to a fully independent status for his next album ''Reborn''. ''The Chase'' is the fifth studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on March 30, 2010 under BEC Recordings, in association with Uprok Records. The single "Avalanche" off the release has sold 50,000 copies as of September 1, 2011. Critical reception The album was met with generally positive and praiseworthy reviews with many calling it Manafest's best album yet. Wayne Myatt of Jesus Freak Hideout positively highlighted the album and stated that "''The Chase'' is an enjoyable album with so much variety that it never seems to become tedious. ''Glory'' is the third studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on September 26, 2006 under BEC Recordings. ''Live in Concert'' (also known as ''Manafest: Live in Concert'') is a live album from the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on June 7, 2011 under BEC Recordings. The release was recorded at a show in Canada, during the Superchick Reinvention Tour in Fall, 2010. Critical reception The album received generally positive reception from professional music sites and reviews. Rick Anderson of AllMusic complimented the live release stating: "Chris Greenwood (aka Manafest) is generally billed as a Christian rapper, but on the evidence provided by his first live album, he's as much singer as rapper, and his style owes as much to metal as to hip-hop. ''Citizens Activ'' is the fourth studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was released on May 28, 2008 in Japan and shortly after released globally on June 24, under BEC Recordings. The release contains the singles "4-3-2-1", "So Beautiful", and "Good Day". Critical reception The album received positive to average reviews overall, with only a few musical sites being negative in their evaluations. Both staff reviews from New Release Tuesday praised the album heavily. The album was, in majority, produced by Seth Mosley (of Newsboys producer fame). ''My Own Thing'' is the debut studio album by the Christian rapper Manafest. It was independently released on December 2, 2003. The release attracted the notice of Trevor McNevan of the Ontario-based rock band Thousand Foot Krutch and led shortly after to Manafest's signing with BEC Recordings under the Uprok Records label for his next album. Trevor McNevan
Trevor McNevan is a Canadian singer who is best known as the lead singer, songwriter and rapper of Thousand Foot Krutch, lead singer and songwriter of pop punk side project FM Static along with Steve Augustine (the third Thousand Foot Krutch drummer), and rapper and songwriter of hip hop side-project I Am the Storm. His first band, Oddball, included Dave Smith (guitar) and Tim Baxter (bass), as well as drummer Neil Sanderson. Oddball released the 27-song record ''Shutterbug'', in 1995, featuring half hip-hop and half rock songs. McNevan is the only original member of Thousand Foot Krutch. The Covenant Awards are awarded to the Canadian gospel music industry by GMA Canada, the Gospel Music Association of Canada. Joel Piper (born October 18, 1985) is a Mexican singer-songwriter, record producer, musician, and disc jockey born in Sonora, Mexico. He most famously known for being the ex-drummer and clean vocalist for the metalcore band Confide (band), Confide from 2009 to 2013.
