Malnava
Malnava, also spelled Malnova, is a village and the parish center of Malnava Parish in Ludza Municipality, Latvia. It is located in the central part of the parish on the P50 road from Ludza, and from Riga. Malnava has developed around the Malnava Manor (Małnów). During World War II, the Wehrmacht had a headquarter in Malnava. Malnava Manor
Malnava Manor ( lv, Malnavas muiža, pl, Małnów) is a manor in Malnava Parish, Ludza Municipality in the Latgale region of Latvia. History Malnava was originally part of Cecina manor, later known as Salnava Manor. Until 1724, the estate belonged to Hülsen noble family, one of the great landowners in Latgale. Jadwiga Hülsen married Jan Szadurski and the estate was inherited by marriage to the Szadurski family. The manor stood in the name of the Szadurski in 1774. According to a 1784 audit, the rulers were brothers Józef Szadurski and Ksawery Szadurski. The sons of the latter, Mikolaj Szadurski and Vikenty Szadurski, divided Malnava and Salnava estates among themselves: Malnava became the property of Mikolaj. After the abolition of serfdom, riots took place in 1863. Baron Julius von der Ropp bought the manor in 1878, during which the peasants protested against the soul census (1881). In 1906 S. F. The current administrative division of Latvia came into force on 1 July 2021. On 10 June 2020, the Saeima approved a municipal reform that would reduce the 110 municipalities and nine republic cities to 43 local government units consisting of 36 municipalities (''novadi'') and seven state cities (''valstspilsētas, plural''). On 1 June 2021, the Constitutional Court of Latvia ruled that the annexation of Varakļāni Municipality to Rēzekne Municipality was unconstitutional. Ludza Municipality
Ludza Municipality ( lv, Ludzas novads) is a municipality in Latgale, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Briģi Parish, Cirma Parish, Isnauda Parish, Istra Parish, Nirza Parish, Ņukši Parish, Pilda Parish, Pureņi Parish, Rundēni Parish and Ludza town, the administrative centre being Ludza. During the 2021 Latvian administrative reform, the previous municipality was merged with Cibla Municipality, Kārsava Municipality and Zilupe Municipality. The new municipality now fully corresponds with the area of the former Ludza District. The municipality is located 267 km from the capital of Latvia - Riga, by the Latvian-Russian border, i.e. by the border of the European Union with the Russian Federation. Ludza
Ludza (; pl, Lucyn, german: Ludsen, russian: Лудза, ''Ludza'') is a town in the Latgale region of eastern Latvia. Ludza is the oldest town in Latvia and this is commemorated by a key in its coat of arms. Ludza is the administrative centre of Ludza Municipality that is located nearby the Russian border.
