Malmö
Malmö (, ; da, Malmø ) is the largest city in the Swedish county (län) of Scania (Skåne). It is the third-largest city in Sweden, after Stockholm and Gothenburg, and the sixth-largest city in the Nordic region, with a municipal population of 350,647 in 2021. The Malmö Metropolitan Region is home to over 700,000 people, and the Øresund Region, which includes Malmö and Copenhagen, is home to 4 million people. Malmö was one of the earliest and most industrialised towns in Scandinavia, but it struggled to adapt to post-industrialism. Simhallsbadet, Malmö
Simhallsbadet is a swimming complex in Malmö city, Sweden owned by the Malmö Municipality. It was known as Aq-va-kul 1988–2015. Today it is mainly used by swimming clubs and schools. History Simhallsbadet (1956–1988) Simhallsbadet was built as a public swimming venue in 1956 with a 25 m pool, and in 1977 a 50 m pool was added. Aq-va-kul (1988–2015) In 1988 a water park was built and the facility's name changed to ''Aq-va-kul''. There was also a Turkish bath and a relaxation area. The facility had 600,000 visitors yearly. The name Aq-va-kul is a word play on the Latin word for water, aqua, and the Swedish phrase ''Ack, vad kul'' (English: "Oh!, how fun"). Jan Bidrman
Jan Bidrman (born 2 April 1966 in Rakovník, Czechoslovakia) is the head coach of the Calgary Academy of Swimming Excellence and the high performance coach of Swim Alberta. Formerly a decorated international athlete in Sweden, Bidrman was selected to the Swedish National Swim Team for both the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea and the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Swimming career Bidrman was a member of the Czechoslovak national team from 1980 to 1985, until his arrival in Sweden where he competed for the Malmö KK swim club. In 1988, Bidrman was selected as a member of the Swedish Olympic Team, but was unable to compete due to regulations concerning transfer of representative country. However at the age of 26, Bidrman was once again selected as a member of the Swedish Olympic Team. Daniel Carlsson (born 14 November 1976) is a former swimmer from Sweden. Ida Marko-Varga (born ''Mattsson''; 10 March 1985) is a Swedish swimmer. She represents SK Triton. Career Marko-Varga was an early prospect, winning two individual freestyle titles at the 1998 Swedish Swimming Championships at the age of 13. The winning marks were 2:03.95 on 200-metre freestyle and 4:21.41 on the 400 m freestyle. She won all the five titles she contested for in the Swedish Youth Championships the same summer, although she was one year younger than the others in her age group. Emilia Nilsson Garip (born 21 April 2003) is a Swedish diver. She competed in the women's 1 metre springboard event at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. She finished in 14th place in the preliminary round. In the women's 3 metre springboard event she finished in 47th place in the preliminary round. In 2021, Nilsson won two gold medals at the Swedish National Championships.
