Mali National Under-19 Basketball Team
The Mali men's national under-18 and under-19 basketball team is the representative for Mali in international basketball competitions, and it is organized and run by the Fédération Malienne de Basketball . The Mali men's national under-18 basketball team represents Mali at the FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship, where they have a chance to qualify into the FIBA Under-19 World Cup. At the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup, Mali broke every record of African basketball teams as the team finished runner-up only to the favorites United States. Hajji ( ar, الحجّي; sometimes spelled Hadji, Haji, Alhaji, Al-Hadj, Al-Haj or El-Hajj) is an honorific title which is given to a Muslim who has successfully completed the Hajj to Mecca. It is also often used to refer to an elder, since it can take years to accumulate the wealth to fund the travel (and did particularly before the advent of mass air travel), and in many Muslim societies to a respected man as an honorific title. The 2017 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup (Arabic: 2017 كأس العالم لكرة السلة تحت 19 سنة فيبا) was the 13th edition of the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup, the biennial international men's youth basketball championship contested by the U19 national teams of the member associations of FIBA.
